Right now millions of Americans are standing
around the water cooler, talking at the gym, grabbing a fast bite to
eat or a coffee and talking with someone else about how bad the economy
is, how stupid and worthless congress is, how greed perverts people at
the top of many corporations and whether or not either of the two
Presidential nominees has the ability to take on the economy, health
care, American energy independence or this nations defense in January.
Well folks, it’s time that we... that is you, me,
I, us, take a stand and realize that WE are the government. We send our
tax dollars to Washington as well as the legislators, the lobbyists,
the bankers, the lawyers, the corporations, etc. You see every time we
gripe or complain and ask someone to do something for, to or about a
cause, we are asking for the government to do something about it. That
action has some validity to it of course but it also brings many
problems with it.
Take the concept of government run, nationalized
health care for instance. In England they pay HUGE taxes plus 9% from
every paycheck to have government run health care and their system is
NOT solvent. Nor is their life expectancy any higher, the same goes for
Cuba, Russia, and a ton of other countries. It is NOT making a profit.
It cannot, does not and never will be able to sustain itself.
"Government run and government provided nationalized health care" will
run on our money, yours and mine.
Why in the world would we want it to? Why are WE
asking the government to take care of much of anything with our tax
dollars other than anything that relates back to our overall national
transportation, food, drug, personal safety and national defense?
Seriously... why should I pay for someone else's health care that could
pay for it themselves and has not hit on hard times due to disability,
job loss, etc? To me that is what tax dollars are there to help with is
a physical or financial emergency and I am NOT talking about emergency
surgery. I am talking about disaster relief as it can have an impact on
everyone’s safety.
For those who have never thought of it in simple terms lay me spell it out for you... anything from the government is NOT FREE!
Someone... that means, you, me, your relatives,
your friends, you neighbors, and yes even people you don't like have to
pony up and pay for whatever the government spends... and oh my how
they spend. They spend even when they don't have money, then they
either want us to pay more in higher taxes and fees, or they simply get
China, Japan or Saudi Arabia to prop up the money they start printing
in mass.
The government, our US government is BROKE!!!
They have spent us dry, there is nothing more to
give, our representatives on both sides of the aisle (minus a few
exceptions) have continued to deficit spend day after day after day and
we are letting them, what in the hell are WE thinking?
Can you? Can I? Can we write or bounce hot checks and get away with it?
NO... why should they?
Would anyone of us give between 30%, 40%, or 50%
of our paycheck to our kids if they came to us and told us they were
going to spend it on something useless like crack or so they could buy
an illegal handgun so they could go enjoy a game of russian roulette
with Johnnie and Suzy down the street?
Again the answer is not just no, it's Hell NO!
Seriously people what in the "sam hill" are WE thinking?
In light of what is going on in the financial
markets, which are "overseen" by Congress, in light of the mess Social
Security, Veterans Hospitals, Medicare and Medicaid are in, and in
light of how wasteful our government is in regards to spending our
money, why in the hell are we asking the government to provide national
health care? More than that... why should WE even dream of asking them
do it with OUR money?
Have we all become THAT weak minded to trust an
over-bloated government full of inefficient, ineffective, liars, cheats
and thieves to "fix" health care, when it is their overzealous
regulatory standards and the allowance of ridiculous lawsuits which got
us to this point in the first place?
Look folks, "Freedom Isn't Free" I know that, and
we all have to a part to play in the betterment of society and each of
has to contribute financially in some way, but why are WE so willing to
run out in front of a bus and get run over like a bunch of blind
lemmings just because some idiot from Washington stands up in front of
a teleprompter and says "the government is not doing enough for you, I
will do this or that for you, vote for me and I will give you this or
that!"
Its bull...PERIOD.
The government does not "gives us" anything that
we don't already pay for... why in the world are we not demanding to
keep more of our own money and tell the government officials who are
not doing a good job to go home and find a new line of work?
We can buy affordable health care already and we
could buy more of it and be better insured if the government stepped
out of it and allowed the private sector and the market to dictate the
need, bigger and more government just leads to more waste.
The government is in the red, they don't do
anything to make a profit and reduce our taxes; we are all being ripped
off each day by a bunch of billionaires and millionaires in DC.
I have to ask people....
when are we going to stop the madness...
How stupid are we?
